TAS, a Houston‑headquartered company, seeks an Assistant Manager - SolidWorks to lead design support on packaged‑equipment projects while supervising designers. You will create and check SolidWorks models, coordinate design interfaces, mentor staff, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

Strong hands‑on SolidWorks, P&ID interpretation, and experience with NEC/ASME standards are preferred for this role in a dynamic engineering environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant mechanical, structural, or packaged‑equipment design experience.
• Hands‑on SolidWorks experience including production models and drawings.
• Experience leading, mentoring and coordinating design/drafting staff.

Responsibilities

• Support lead designers on moderate to complex packaged equipment projects from turnover through release.
• Create, modify, check, and approve SolidWorks models, assemblies, BOMs and drawings.
• Mentor designers, supervise workload, and track performance.
• Coordinate design interfaces with Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain and Manufacturing.
• Attend meetings and communicate risks and forecast impacts to leadership.
