Job summary

Comfort Systems USA is seeking an Assistant Manager - SolidWorks to lead and support design teams on packaged-equipment projects. You will create and check 3D SolidWorks models, assemblies, and BOMs while coaching designers and coordinating with engineering leadership to deliver safe, compliant work on schedule.

You will interpret P&IDs and drawings, drive design quality, and help develop standards and tooling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Post-secondary degree or certificate in drafting or engineering tech preferred.
• Experience reading P&IDs and engineering drawings is expected.

Responsibilities

• Support lead designers on complex packaged-equipment projects from turnover to release.
• Create, modify, and check SolidWorks models, assemblies, and BOMs.
• Interpret P&IDs, process diagrams, layouts, piping plans and customer inputs.
• Coordinate design interfaces with Engineering, PM, Supply Chain and QA.
• Provide hands-on SolidWorks excellence and ensure manufacturability.
• Mentor designers, oversee workload, and contribute to staffing plans.
• Lead design reviews, establish standards, and manage documentation.
