Job summary

Fresno Valves & Castings, Inc. in Selma, CA is seeking a Mechanical Drafter/Designer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have SolidWorks CAD experience, strong attention to detail, and an understanding of modern manufacturing processes.

This hourly, full-time position reports to the Engineering Manager and offers a path to contribute to innovative product designs. You will develop 3D models, maintain drawings, and collaborate with designers to address manufacturing challenges

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in SolidWorks CAD Drafting/Design or equivalent.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office; knowledge of other CAD software is a plus.
• Understanding of metal fabrication and modern manufacturing processes.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Detail-oriented with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• Proficient in reading and understanding engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and create detailed drawings from verbal instructions, sketches, or reverse engineering.
• Use precision measuring tools to inspect parts during machining.
• Collaborate with product designers to address manufacturing challenges.
• Develop and maintain 3D models and drawings for new products with SolidWorks.
• Manage BOMs in the ERP System (Syteline CS preferred).
• Update legacy drawings to current CAD formats.
• Organize libraries of part files and documentation.
• Maintain drawing title blocks, notes, and revision dates.
• Incorporate changes to ensure information accuracy.
• Adhere to safety procedures.
• Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
