Job summary

City of Ann Arbor is seeking a technician to develop, facilitate and assist Public Works crews in the collection of solid waste, including trash, recycling and compost operations, with a schedule from 6:30am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday and some Saturdays. The role involves cross-training in maintenance of municipal infrastructure and requires a valid driver's license and on-call readiness.

Starting hourly rate is $34.63, with pay increases after hire based on length of service and

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Preferred: 2 years supervisory experience.
• Preferred: 2 years experience in solid waste.
• Preferred: Experience supervising union employees.

Responsibilities

• Develop, facilitate and assist Public Works Technicians in collection of solid waste operations.
• Cross-train in maintenance and repair of City infrastructure including Forestry, streets, water distribution, sanitary and stormwater systems, and grounds and facility maintenance.
