Job summary

The City of Ann Arbor is seeking a Public Works Technician to assist in the collection of solid waste, including trash, recycling and compost using side-load, rear-load and front-load operations. The role supports a labor force represented by TEAMSTERS and involves on-call field work.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent (GED).
• 2 years supervisory experience.
• 2 years experience in solid waste.
• Experience supervising union employees.

Responsibilities

• To develop, facilitate and assist Public Works Technicians in collection of solid waste including trash, recycling and compost side-load, rear-load and front-load operations.
• Cross training in maintenance and repair of City infrastructure including Forestry, streets, water distribution, sanitary and stormwater collection systems, and grounds and facility maintenance.
