Job summary

The City of Ann Arbor invites applications for a Waste & Street Maintenance position. The role involves safely operating light to heavy equipment for solid waste collection and maintaining water, sanitary and stormwater systems, as well as City streets.

Required are a High School diploma or GED, CDL Endorsement B with Air Brake, and CDL A within 6 months of hire; prior road, underground utility, or landscape construction experience is preferred.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM-2:30 PM

Starting Hourly Rate: $23.50

This rate is non-negotiable and there is a 6-month probationary period. After hire, pay increases are dependent on length of service, advancement in the position, and other contractual factors.

Role Summary:

Education, Training and Experience Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
• CDL Endorsement B with Air Brake endorsement
• CDL A endorsement within 6 months of hire
• Previous experience in road maintenance, underground utility construction or landscape construction
