Job summary

The City of Ann Arbor is seeking a waste collection and street maintenance worker to safely operate equipment and support water, sanitary, and stormwater systems.

Starting hourly rate is $23.50 with a six-month probationary period. After hire, pay increases depend on length of service, advancement, and other contract factors; medical, vision, dental, and vacation benefits are provided. This is a full-time, on-site position with opportunities within the Public Works department.

Qualifications

• CDL Endorsements are required for this role.
• Air Brake endorsement is required with CDL-B.
• Experience in road maintenance or related construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate light to heavy equipment for solid waste collection.
• Operate and maintain water, sanitary and stormwater systems.
• Maintain City streets and related infrastructure.

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–2:30 PM

Education, Training and Experience Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
• CDL Endorsement B with Air Brake endorsement
• CDL A endorsement within 6 months of hire
• Previous experience in road maintenance, underground utility construction or landscape construction
