Job Overview:

APTIM seeks a highly motivated Solid Waste Emissions Solutions Sales Director with proven consulting sales experience and established client relationships. The role involves leveraging APTIM's Solid Waste Services Group to grow adjacent services such as air compliance & permitting, fugitive emissions reduction, leachate management & treatment, PFAS, renewable natural gas, and wastewater. The Solid Waste Services Group offers engineering, construction, landfill gas control equipment, field O&M services, and project development for the solid waste industry. This position offers an opportunity for career advancement and impactful contributions to market growth strategies, environmental sustainability, and customer engagement. Candidates should have strong industry relationships within the solid waste sector, including with public/private landfill contacts, engineering firms, and energy project developers.

This role focuses on identifying new customers and opportunities for service expansion, as well as cross-selling within APTIM's Environmental Consulting and Site Assessment & Remediation Groups.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  1. Achieve annual sales goals and maintain a sales pipeline using CRM software (Salesforce).
  2. Track sales activities and produce reports to support APTIM's sales incentive programs.
  3. Leverage existing client relationships to generate new business within an agreed timeline.
  4. Prepare proposals, strategize, and develop capture plans for new client pursuits and existing client retention and growth.
  5. Develop and implement strategic market and business plans to expand APTIM's Solid Waste Services and client base.
  6. Lead marketing and sales efforts for large projects, teaming partnerships, and client engagement initiatives.
  7. Cultivate relationships with prospective partners, including prime and subcontractors.
  8. Monitor market trends, technology, and competitors to maximize competitiveness.
  9. Participate in industry events, trade shows, and technical seminars to expand market presence and represent APTIM's capabilities.
  10. Apply creativity and customer insights to identify solutions and opportunities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • 5+ years of relevant sales experience in the solid waste industry, preferably in consulting and engineering
  • Experience selling air compliance, emissions reduction, PFAS, renewable natural gas, wastewater solutions (preferred)
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships
  • Experience growing business in a dynamic market
  • Strong industry relationships and reputation
  • Leadership skills to build and mentor teams
  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Self-starter with organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce or similar CRM
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
  • Ability to work remotely
