Job summary

The City of Peoria seeks a Solid Waste Operational Coordinator to support the division with data-driven route and fleet optimization at the Municipal Operations Center in Peoria, AZ. The role requires coordinating with staff across departments and training operators on in-truck technology.

Applicants should have an associate degree or equivalent, 3+ years in data collection/analysis, GIS experience, and knowledge of solid waste equipment. CDL-B preferred.

This position will have direct contact with City staff across all departments and divisions, as well as residents, schools, and other municipalities and businesses. The purpose of this position is to support the mission of the Solid Waste Division using technology and experience-based techniques for analyzing data, problem solving, and discovery. The coordinator uses computer-assisted route and fleet management tools to achieve maximum efficiency and balance to collection routes. A large responsibility of this job function is to closely train operators to use the division’s in-truck technology and monitor their effectiveness.
