Job summary

The City of Peoria, AZ, Public Works Department, seeks an Equipment Operator for the residential collection division. The role involves operating heavy equipment to excavate, trench, clean streets, and transport refuse and recycling to the landfill.

Candidates must have a high school diploma, 9-12 months of related experience, and a valid AZ Class B CDL. Depending on assignment, Class A CDL and/or Tanker/HazMat endorsements may be required within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to excavate, trench, and perform street cleaning.
• Deliver refuse and recycling materials to the landfill using front/load, side load, rear load, and roll-off collection vehicles.
• Operate an articulated tractor and other solid waste equipment as assigned.
