Job summary

The City of Greenville (SC) is seeking a Waste Collection Operator to operate solid waste heavy equipment across residential areas, ensuring safe and efficient collection. You will perform pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain logs, and support fleet safety practices in daily operations.

You will be required to work weekends/evenings as needed and comply with regulations, while ensuring timely, accurate disposal and adherence to all safety guidelines and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Six months of experience operating CDL vehicles is preferred/required.
• FEMA IC 100, 700 and 552 must be obtained within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate Solid Waste Heavy Equipment in residential and high-traffic areas.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle logs.
• Manage waste disposal including weekends, holidays, and events as scheduled.
