Job summary

City of Prescott is seeking an Equipment Operator in the Solid Waste Division for the Public Works Department. The role involves operating side-load, front-load and roll-off refuse vehicles, backhoe, loaders and a crane at the transfer station.

Responsibilities include routine vehicle maintenance, DOT inspections, and assisting with events. A High School diploma and a Class B CDL (AZ) are required; overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays may be needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior heavy or motorized equipment operator experience preferred.
• Experience driving side-load/front-load or roll-off refuse collection equipment preferred; or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and equipment including side-load, front-load, roll-off refuse vehicles, backhoe, loaders and crane.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on vehicles and equipment.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections per DOT requirements.
• Maintain refuse containers and transfer station/yard per ADEQ/EPA rules.
• Assist with setup and cleanup of special events and other tasks as needed.
