Job summary

Lake County Solid Waste is seeking a Driver/Operator in Montana. The role requires a valid Class B CDL with winter driving experience and the potential to obtain Class A by end of probation. You will operate trucks and heavy equipment, lift up to 80 lbs, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

The position is full-time with weekends required, offering union benefits and a wage of $27.93 per hour. Responsibilities include driving, container handling, basic maintenance, and landfill

Lake County Solid Waste is accepting applications for:

Driver / Operator

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must possess a valid Class B CDL, with an acceptable driving record and a minimum of 1 year of CDL driving experience in winter conditions.
• Class A CDL is preferred.
• If you have a valid Class B CDL, you will be required to obtain a Class A by the end of your probationary period.
• Must possess the ability to operate large trucks and heavy equipment safely and skillfully;
• be able to conduct minor repair and maintenance of trucks and equipment, work outdoors in extreme weather and temperatures, and work well with the public and coworkers;
• and must be knowledgeable of all federal, state, and local laws pertaining to the operation of commercial motor vehicles.
• Must be able to lift 80lbs.
• Roll-off and pup trailer experience is preferred.

DUTIES

• Drive transfer truck to container sites
• set empty containers
• consolidate loaded containers
• retrieve loaded containers
• deliver and unload containers
• clean area around container site, as well as truck and trailer
• perform minor maintenance on equipment
• operate heavy equipment
• move and compact waste
• perform landfill duties, including working at the ticket shack
• and perform other duties as assigned.

HOURS/DAYS

Full-time - Varied schedule - Requires weekends.

WAGE

$27.93/hourly. This is a union covered position.
