Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) to provide expert care in a busy outpatient oncology setting. The role covers breast, thoracic, GI, sarcoma/melanoma, head and neck, and GU cancers with a four ten-hour day schedule.

The APN will collaborate with physicians, participate in rounds, manage chronic conditions, prescribe medications, and lead quality improvement initiatives while promoting patient- and family-centered care within NJ regulations.

Qualifications

• Active NJ RN license and APN certification.
• Prescriptive authority through CDS/DEA per NJ law.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Commitment to evidence-based patient care and safety.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive history and physicals appropriate to age and condition.
• Order and interpret labs and diagnostic tests in collaboration with physicians.
• Prescribe medications safely and educate patients per guidelines.
• Promote nursing practice through conferences, publications, and presentations.
• Provide culturally sensitive education and coordinate care within interdisciplinary teams.
