Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required.
• Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Licensed Pharmacist by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assesses the appropriateness of each medication as prescribed, reviewing for adverse drug reactions and interactions.
• Monitors patient response to prescribed therapies and re-evaluates therapy when appropriate.
• Documents patient medication history and communicates issues regarding compliance or regimen to the physician.
• Distributes medications for administration in the assigned area and triages orders to meet immediate needs.
• Provides drug information to patients, families, physicians, pharmacists, and nurses; shares new information from literature.
• Supports educational programs and precepts residents and students.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
