Job summary

Northramp LLC is seeking an experienced UNIX administrator to manage Solaris and Red Hat estates in a regulated environment. You will drive patching via ABEs, implement automation with Ansible or Puppet, and coordinate OEM upgrades, SL1 monitoring, and security tooling.

You will engage with customers and platform teams, maintain documentation, and participate in incident response and change governance while eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• 5+ years administering Oracle Solaris (Zones and LDOMs) or Red Hat Enterprise Linux at scale.
• Hands-on experience with ABE-based Solaris patching, rollback, and vendor bundle planning.
• Experience with Puppet and Ansible for UNIX automation (playbooks and modules).
• Strong shell scripting in bash and ksh.
• Familiarity with VMware-hosted Linux operations and coordination with platform teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust; eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Operates and administers the Solaris and Red Hat estates.
• Patching and change execution with ABEs and Oracle patch cadence.
• Automation and tool transitions using Ansible or Puppet; write playbooks and runbooks.
• Monitoring OS and hardware with SL1; coordinate with DCOB.
• Triages security alerts from Tenable, Tripwire, and Splunk; enforces host firewalls.
• ServiceNow for change/incident management; CAB processes; post-incident RCA.
• Documentation of SOPs and runbooks; align with UNIX/security syncs and customer meetings.
