Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator I to support enterprise Linux environments, perform installation, configuration, testing and management of RHEL-based systems, and assist with security, compliance, and system documentation.

You will work with monitoring tools like SolarWinds Orion and Splunk, configure IDM, Ansible, and MFA, and collaborate with CAB during patch cycles. A US citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Strong understanding of Linux operating systems, command line, and networking basics.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Install, upgrade, patch, manage, and monitor Linux systems (primarily RHEL).
• Configure and patch RedHat Satellite servers and repositories.
• Provide end-user and application user support via incident management.
• Assist in compliance audits during patch cycles and interface with CAB as needed.
• Utilize SolarWinds Orion and Splunk for real-time monitoring and alerting.
