Job summary

NextGenEnergyJobs is seeking a Technician Trainee to support solar PV systems and related equipment. You will learn to troubleshoot, maintain, service, and repair electrical components under supervision, while shadowing experienced technicians and keeping tools organized.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required or within the first 6 months of employment.
Valid driver’s license required.
Demonstrable mechanical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge.
Ability to work overtime and non-standard hours.
Willingness to travel to sites as needed.
Ability to read schematics is preferred.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, troubleshoot, maintain, service, and repair solar PV systems and related equipment.
Trainee role with supervision and safety focus.
Shadow and assist experienced technicians in PV system maintenance.
Operate and maintain a service vehicle; keep tools in order.
May require on-call work including weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
Progress through Levels I–III with advancement exams and training.
