Job summary

Service Robot Co. is seeking a field technician to install and maintain solar equipment at customer sites across various outdoor locations. This contract role involves hands-on work on rooftops, ground mounts, and large sites with emphasis on safety and precise installations.

Responsibilities include installing panels, wiring, and mounting systems, plus maintenance of inverters and trackers. Training is provided, and the first job is paid. Travel to client sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in roofing, electrical work, construction, HVAC, or another practical trade.
• Basic safety training and attentiveness to equipment condition.

• Maintain and repair inverters, combiner boxes, trackers, and connectors.
• Inspect systems, take electrical readings, and use thermal scans to locate faults.
• Clean panels and perform scheduled maintenance.

• Record visits with photos, readings, and repair notes.
• Explain findings and follow-up work to the site owner.
• Keep tools, meters, and protective equipment ready for use.

The role

What you will do

What we are looking for

• Experience in roofing, electrical work, construction, HVAC, or another practical trade.
• Basic electrical knowledge or willingness to learn through training.
• Careful attention to safety and signs of equipment failure.
• Comfort using ladders, wearing a harness, and working at height.
• Availability for physical outdoor work and travel to customer sites.
• Reliability and clear communication.

Training

You will complete an online course through our Service Robot Co. Academy, followed by in-person training and the industry certifications needed for this role. Training and certifications are free for selected candidates. Your first job is paid, with a specialist supporting you remotely.
