Job summary

Blue Origin in the Greater Seattle area is seeking a Solar Technician III to join the Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering team. You will assemble solar cell strings, operate solar simulators, and support environmental tests in a hands-on lab environment.

The role requires 5+ years aerospace hardware assembly/test or an AS degree with 2+ years, experience with precision tools, metrology, and ESD/cleanroom practices. Overtime and shift work may be required; travel up to 25% is noted.

Qualifications

• 5+ years aerospace hardware assembly/test experience.
• Experience operating test equipment and recording data with traceability.
• ESD/cleanroom/FOD compliance; basic metrology.
• Ability to use precision tools to measure tight tolerances.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and work in a dynamic team.

Responsibilities

• Assemble solar cell strings and perform resistance welding/tabbing.
• Operate solar simulators, IV flash, EL imaging.
• Support TVAC, thermal cycling, and environmental tests.
• Assist deployment test rigs and instrumented tests.
• Maintain lab organization (5S) and support calibration of tools.
• Identify and escalate build issues; document NCs.
