Job summary

Tampa Electric Company is seeking a Solar Technician II to troubleshoot and maintain utility-scale solar plant systems, including inverters, tracking systems and arrays. The role supports operational reliability and safety in a critical energy facility located in Florida.

The successful candidate will have 2+ years of related experience (or an associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology) and a working knowledge of solar PV power generation, MS Office, and control systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Preferred: Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years related experience; college degree can substitute per policy.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain utility-scale solar plant inverters.
• Maintain tracking systems and solar arrays.
• Ensure plant instrumentation and RTU interfaces function correctly.
• Support capital projects from a solar technician role.
• Assist IT Security with NERC/CIP compliance.
• Work beyond 40 hours and on-call as needed.
