Position: Field Operations Technician 2

Support our expanding teams at photovoltaic (PV) solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS) facilities, connecting regional operations to the broader network. We seek a seasoned Solar Technician with advanced troubleshooting skills, capable of leading, training, and collaborating effectively.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform preventative & corrective maintenance at solar+battery facilities, supporting construction activities, troubleshooting, and repair of PV modules, inverters, and BESS containers.
  2. Communicate effectively with team members, engineers, and external partners, prioritizing and addressing site issues to ensure maximum equipment efficiency and grid stability.
  3. Coordinate with third-party technicians, support safety and documentation procedures, and assist in inventory management.
  4. Participate in construction/commissioning activities, ensuring quality and timely project completion.
  5. Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, and stay updated on technical and safety standards.
  6. Perform administrative tasks, including documentation, safety reporting, and inventory tracking.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years as a solar PV technician or 5+ years in power plants, with experience in electrical systems, PV solar, and substations.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards (OSHA, NFPA 70e), electrical fundamentals, and operational characteristics of PV and storage systems.
  • Effective communication skills, problem-solving ability, and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Certifications such as NFPA 70E and OSHA 30, with documentation required.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, manuals, and technical documents.
  • Physical ability to lift 35 lbs, work in various environmental conditions, and work flexible hours, including overtime and regional travel.
Work Environment
  • Work around energized equipment, hazardous materials, and at heights.
  • Occasional non-standard hours and regional travel required.
  • Physical fitness required for climbing, lifting, and working outdoors.
