Job summary

Otovo SRL is seeking a Field Service Technician to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar systems, battery storage solutions, and generators in the Columbia, SC area.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of electrical experience, a valid driver's license, and familiarity with NEC/AHJ requirements. The role involves outdoor work, travel locally, and overtime as needed, with a strong focus on customer service and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 4+ years of electrical experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong understanding of NEC, AHJ, and utility interconnection requirements.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience using electrical diagnostic equipment.
• Must lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders or roofs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments.
• Commission new systems and upgrades while ensuring NEC/AHJ compliance.
• Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and photos.
• Follow safety procedures including PPE, lockout/tagout, and fall protection.
