Job summary

Kokosing is seeking a Solar Safety Specialist to provide field safety support across multiple locations, with a vehicle allowance and travel throughout Ohio and Michigan. The role focuses on implementing safety and health policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement in safety performance on solar and utility-scale projects.

The position requires strong knowledge of OSHA standards, electrical safety, and renewable-energy work environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety & Health or equivalent.
• 3-6+ years of construction safety experience preferred; solar or renewable-energy experience strongly preferred.
• All experience levels will be considered with adjustments to title and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing strategies to reduce injuries, illnesses, and incidents while supporting business unit safety objectives.
• Independently perform safety audits, inspections, evaluations, and behavioral observations across all operations.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, NFPA 70E, and other applicable state/federal regulations.
• Serve as a point of contact for regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA) when the Safety Manager is unavailable.
• Develop and distribute safety communications, alerts, and updates regarding regulatory or company policy changes.
