Job summary

The Solar Tech II role at Duke Energy Florida supports multiple PV plant sites across the service territory on a continual/on-demand basis, troubleshooting/ resolving equipment issues such as emergency repairs and equipment modifications, and establishing O&M support for new plant start-ups and long-term operation.

The position involves work scheduling, maintenance, equipment installation, and start-up support, plus leading and coordinating contractors and technicians to improve O&M output

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3 years of electrical maintenance or Solar PV experience preferred.
  • Licensed and able to operate in the field with safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, resolve equipment issues - 30%
  • Design change requirements, and equipment modifications - 15%
  • Scheduling maintenance, installation, and start-up support - 15%
  • Support existing equipment performance and reliability - 15%
  • Coordinate testing schedules and assign tasks to contractors - 15%
