About The Role
We are seeking a Solar Project Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development and execution of solar energy projects. Responsibilities include hands-on design, overseeing external consultant design development of Solar Photovoltaic systems, and supporting various technical tasks. This role is ideal for an engineering professional passionate about renewable energy and innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver design and problem-solving services supporting project schedules.
  • Lead design development efforts for assigned projects.
  • Support the design team during initial training and as needed thereafter.
  • Oversee, design, and support commercial and grid-supplied Solar Photovoltaic systems.
  • Prepare technical drawings and specifications to ensure standards and customer requirements are met.
  • Conduct detailed site evaluations.
  • Coordinate with structural, electrical, geotechnical, and civil engineers to meet technical and code requirements, managing the PE review process.
  • Provide technical support for proposals and customer presentations.
  • Participate in meetings and technical presentations to stakeholders.
  • Assist with site evaluation, interconnect agreements, and related tasks.
  • Work with electric utilities on interconnection paperwork.
  • Review specifications for materials and equipment purchases.
  • Identify and qualify equipment vendors.
  • Support project management and construction teams with ongoing technical support.
  • Review work of other design engineers and lead design reviews.
  • Develop customer deliverables such as layouts, diagrams, specifications, and renderings.
  • Assist with RFP reviews, technical writing, and response coordination.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office.
  • Experience in electrical, mechanical, structural, or civil engineering design.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact effectively across organizational levels.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to plan and organize projects.
