Job summary

Nextpower is seeking a Project Engineer in Fremont, CA, onsite, reporting to the Lead of Project Engineering. You will work with engineers and designers to manage design and engineering decisions for PV projects from development to construction support.

You will develop tracker layouts, BOMs, and construction plan sets, review site inputs, and coordinate with India and US teams to update standards and configurations for ongoing projects.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience on commercial or utility-scale projects.
• Thorough knowledge of drafting standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated team player.

Responsibilities

• Provide design support to develop tracker layouts, CAD blocks, mechanical sets, and full construction plan sets.
• Review site information, design inputs, and assist in selecting appropriate product types based on site conditions.
• Collaborate with engineers located in different regions to update product standards and drafting practices.
• Conduct value engineering exercises to lower costs on a project basis.
• Coordinate with designers across regions to create and update product standards and resolve project issues.
• Learn topography and hydrology analyses to determine optimal tracker placement.
• Prioritize tasks to support internal and external customers.
