Job summary

Nextpower in Fremont, CA is seeking a Project Engineer to support design and engineering for utility-scale PV projects from development to construction. You will work with engineers and designers to prepare construction plan sets and review site information to select appropriate product types based on conditions.

You will collaborate with the US and India teams, engage in value engineering, and help update standards while coordinating with Sales, PM, and R&D.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of engineering experience on commercial or utility-scale projects (solar preferred).
• Proficiency in drafting standards and AutoCAD.
• Strong organization and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide design support to develop tracker layouts, CAD blocks, mechanical sets, and construction plan sets.
• Review site information and inputs to select appropriate product types based on conditions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams in the US and India and with Sales, PM, and R&D.
• Perform value engineering to reduce project costs and coordinate design changes.
• Develop new product standards and respond to project-related issues with global teams.
• Learn topography and hydrology analysis to determine tracker placement.
