Job summary

ARCO/Murray is seeking a Solar Project Manager Intern to join our Power Solutions team in Downers Grove, Illinois. You will assist with sales, project execution, and overall performance of solar projects, gaining hands-on experience in design/build construction.

The internship offers weekly training sessions, a structured program, and potential housing assistance for non-local interns, with a path toward full-time opportunities after graduation.

Qualifications

• Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Engineering program.
• Prior industry internship experience is a plus.
• Extracurricular involvement is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Estimating – Describing project proposals and assigning dollar values.
• Scheduling – Creating a working timeline for subcontractors to complete the project on time.
• Design meetings – Attend design meetings with owner and team to understand design pro structural engineers, architects.
• Buyout – Send bid instructions, schedule, and drawings to subcontractors; receive and evaluate proposals and award subcontracts.
• Shop Drawing and Submittal Review – Review drawings with PM and design team and communicate with subs.
• Billing – Understand subcontracts, change orders, pay requests, and project cost status.
• Jobsite Visits – Visit jobsite with PM and ensure the project runs smoothly.
• Weekly Training Sessions – Do training sessions to understand the business and roles.
