Job summary

ARCO is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join the Power Solutions team in Downers Grove, IL. This role focuses on delivering turnkey power solutions for large-scale construction projects, including solar, CHP, and micro-grid planning as part of master power strategies.

Collaborate with sales, project execution, and clients to drive design/build outcomes, while overseeing equipment selection, scheduling, and logistics across national and international supplier networks.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience working in general contracting, EPC, or similar industry.
• Bonus: BIM experience (Revit and AutoCAD).
• Able to organize, plan and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.

Responsibilities

• Be a key part of the Power Solutions team delivering turnkey power solutions to our clients.
• Take on administrative aspects of project from the earliest stages of preconstruction through project closeout.
• Assist with designing Solar solutions using in-house tools in support of our design/build sales process.
• Oversee equipment selection, buyout process, and logistics for full project scope.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and vendors on technical issues to provide guidance on solar solutions.
• Develop and review project schedule and site logistics with the Project Superintendent and Foreman.
• Participate in budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
• Procure solar panels, inverters, and power components from supplier networks.
• Utilize and expand our network of equipment suppliers.
• Assist in business development by solving complex projects as part of a client-facing team.
• Assist in developing Solar, CHP, Micro-grid solutions as part of master power planning.
