Job summary

Cypress Creek Energy is seeking an Operations Engineer to oversee daily operations of a growing PV portfolio. You will be the technical contact for a portfolio, translate field conditions into clear updates, and support performance improvements through data analytics.

The role requires experience with SCADA/DAS, electrical systems, and data-driven problem solving. Hybrid work from Durham/Asheville, NC or NYC, NY offices, with site visits as needed.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical or Power Systems engineering.
• 1–2 years in operations of power system equipment (inverters, transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers).
• Experience with SCADA, DAS, and communication equipment.
• Experience reading electrical single-line and three-line diagrams.
• Knowledge of arc flash, power flow, and harmonic studies.
• Experience reviewing HV/MV equipment test results.
• Proficiency with MS Office; able to analyze large data sets with Excel/Power BI/Python.

Responsibilities

• Monitor day-to-day operation and long-term performance of utility-scale PV facilities.
• Analyze data to identify actions for performance improvements.
• Predict issues using data analytics and support data infrastructure.
• Support performance reporting for asset management and project finance teams.
• Serve as the primary technical interface for an assigned portfolio with customers and partners.
• Translate site events into incident summaries, CAPAs, and action plans.
• Prepare and present technical performance narratives with KPIs and recommendations.
