Job summary

Onward Energy in Bakersfield, California, is seeking a Solar Operations & Maintenance Supervisor to lead daily site execution for PV plants. You will supervise solar technicians, ensure safety, coordinate maintenance, and drive improvements across performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Requires degree or relevant experience in power generation/solar projects.
• 5+ years in operations/maintenance in power generation, with 2+ years in solar and 1+ year in supervision.
• Ability to plan, organize, and direct safe operation and maintenance at sites.
• Strong EH&S compliance, budgeting support, and personnel management understanding.
• Proficient communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily site operations and maintenance activities with safety as priority.
• Coordinate and supervise solar technicians to meet company standards.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to site personnel.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and development of site staff.
• Coordinate maintenance (corrective, preventive, predictive) and outages.
• Ensure CMMS documentation accuracy and timely maintenance records.
• Collaborate with ROC, Asset Management, Engineering and Compliance to improve plant performance.
• Support budgeting with field input on maintenance and staffing needs.
