Job description

The Site Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of a solar farm, ensuring safe and efficient site performance. This role is responsible for supervising technicians and contractors, managing maintenance activities, monitoring site availability, and maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, the Site Supervisor will coordinate daily work schedules, support preventative and corrective maintenance, manage spare parts and reporting, and ensure all operational procedures are followed.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all site safety activities, audits, and investigations.
• Supervise technicians and O&M contractors on site.
• Plan and manage maintenance schedules and daily work activities.
• Oversee quality control and monitor contractor performance.
• Create work orders, purchase requests, and operational reports.
• Maintain site performance, availability, and inventory levels.
• Ensure accurate completion of all operational and safety documentation.
• Support training, development, and performance management of site staff.

Requirements

• Technical background in electrical systems or solar O&M.
• Experience with high-voltage maintenance and switching operations.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and enforce quality workmanship.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems and EH&S compliance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• 3–5 years’ experience in the renewable energy industry preferred.

Working Conditions

• 70% field-based / 30% office-based role.
• Less than 10% travel required.
• On-call availability and flexibility for weekends or holidays when required.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift 50 lbs+.
