ACT Power Services in Fall River, MA is seeking a Solar Master Technician to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on commercial and utility-scale solar PV plants, ensuring safe operation and maximum production.

The role covers troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs of modules, strings, trackers, and inverters; candidates should be familiar with electrical systems, read schematics, and prioritize safety on outdoor sites.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with electrical systems and components.
• Proficiency in using power tools for repair tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite.
• Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal oversight.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Knowledge of OSHA 1910, NFPA 70E, and 70B.
• OSHA 10 General Industry certificate.
• Must be able to travel, be on-call during off-shift hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in everything you do.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting and repair of solar photovoltaic facilities.
• Willingness to learn NEC code, electrical theory, and industry best practices.
• DC and AC testing including polarity, open circuit voltage, grounding continuity, communication, insulation resistance testing, I-V curve tracing.
• Interpret schematics to understand system layouts and connections.
• Maintain a maintenance schedule for routine tasks at solar facilities (trackers, inverters, transformers, disconnects, substations).
• Maintain company assets such as vehicle, tools, meters, stock.
• Maintain service reports, inspections, safety paperwork, and spare parts inventory.
• Provide maintenance and troubleshooting training to technicians as needed.
• Identify safety hazards and take action to mitigate them.
