Job summary

First Solar is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician I to assist in installing and qualifying manufacturing equipment, troubleshoot daily issues, and implement improvements to boost throughput, yield, and product performance. The role requires reading schematics, data analysis, and effective communication with engineers and vendors.

Candidates should have technical education or experience and be prepared for extended hours and up to 10% travel.

• Experience or ability to assemble and work with deposition equipment components.
• Willing to work extended hours and travel up to 10% annually.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
• Provide organization and time-management for solving production equipment problems.
• Review tool performance data and participate in performance meetings.
• Communicate with production teams, engineers and vendors to complete projects.
• Understand area processes, equipment and support systems.
• Train production staff and new engineers on operations and maintenance.
• Develop and update work instructions, SOPs and equipment specs.
• Plan inventory and maintenance for distributors and spare parts.
• Monitor distributor inventory and coordinate allocations for coaters.
