Job summary

The Training Center of Central Texas is launching a 15-week Solar Maintenance Technician Program, led by an experienced instructor. You will teach in a lab‑based setting with real-world equipment, shaping the next generation of utility‑scale solar technicians, including transitioning veterans and adult learners.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of hands-on solar O&M, familiarity with Sungrow equipment, safety training, and prior instructional experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on utility-scale solar O&M experience in related roles.
• Experience with Sungrow equipment (inverters, BESS) preferred.
• Proficiency with load break switches, combiner boxes, and basic SCADA interfaces.
• Previous training, mentorship, or instructional experience is highly desirable.
• Strong safety mindset and knowledge of OSHA/NEC/LOTO procedures.
• Familiarity with veteran learners or diverse adult education environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, practical instruction for solar maintenance technician students in a 15-week cohort format.
• Lead classroom training, hands-on labs, simulations, and assessments.
• Maintain equipment and coordinate real-world demonstrations.
• Develop and refine lesson plans with support from Sungrow/Leeward.
• Assess student progress and provide actionable feedback.
• Support students with job readiness and transition to employment.
• Stay current with industry standards, trends, and safety codes.
