Goodwill Columbus seeks a Solar Installation Instructor Trainee to join the Clean Tech Accelerator Train-the-Trainer program. The role shadows cohorts taught by a training partner and completes training to become certified to deliver instruction within GCTA.

Responsibilities include supporting classroom and lab instruction in solar installation, facilitating Career Fundamentals and Work Readiness modules, and helping build employer relationships for graduate job placement.

Qualifications

• OSHA Certification preferred.
• 2+ years of residential solar electrical system installation/troubleshooting experience; 1+ year leading a crew preferred.
• Aptitude for mechanical/technical content and self-study potential from related fields.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical solar training curricula and lab instruction to trainees.
• Lead and teach classroom/lab workshop instruction.
• Identify additional training needs for trainees.
• Mentor trainees and model high professional standards.
• Lead or assist on-site solar and solar electrical installation work.
• Maintain regular communication with manager and team to ensure goal achievement.
• Build relationships with employers to support graduate job placement.
• Assist with program development and other duties as assigned.
