Job summary

New Energy Equity, a leader in solar solutions, seeks an M&A Associate to support the deal team in acquiring distributed generation solar projects. You will organize diligence, run financial models, manage closing timelines, and track opportunities using Salesforce and Power BI.

Hybrid role with in‑office requirements in Annapolis, MD; Boulder, CO; or Boston, MA. Travel 1–2 times per year and strong communication skills are essential. Salary range $60,000–$70,000 with benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in M&A, investment banking, corporate development, project finance, private equity, infrastructure investing, or related field.
• Strong understanding of corporate finance, valuation, and investment analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with complex financial models and data sets.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex financial and business information.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced, transaction‑focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify opportunities and assess trends, competition, and risks.
• Project Identification: Define acquisition criteria with internal teams.
• Due Diligence: Lead financial analysis, legal reviews, and operational assessments.
• Financial Modeling: Develop models to analyze feasibility and ROI of acquisitions.
• Negotiation: Negotiate terms with project stakeholders to meet company objectives.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with legal, finance, and other departments to facilitate acquisitions.
