Job summary

ION Solar is seeking a skilled Installer to assemble, install and maintain residential PV systems. The installer will work on roofs and sometimes in attics or crawl spaces, coordinating with electricians and technicians to ensure safe, efficient connections to the grid.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and preference for technical training. Candidates should be comfortable with heights and physically capable of lifting 50 pounds, with a strong focus on safety and quality.

Our dedicated team is committed to making solar energy accessible and affordable for homeowners across the country.We are currently in search of a skilled Installer who will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining solar PV systems..Duties/Responsibilities:Assembles and installs solar panels on roofsConfigures PV systems based on site conditions and customers needs and expectations; connects panels to the power gridMaintain high levels of quality assurance and quality control with an emphasis on crew safetyComplete projects within established policies and proceduresEnsures that equipment is weather sealedPerforms routine maintenance on PV systemsResponsible for assisting the Electrician with connecting PV panels to the electrical systemPerforms other related duties as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:Extensive knowledge of PV equipment and installation.Extensive knowledge of electrical wiring and equipment.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to read building plans.Ability to read equipment manuals.Ability to use hand and power tools to install PV panels.Ability to use ION technology, such as smartphones, Paycom, Field Pro, SalesForce, etc.Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required.Vocational or technical school training preferred.Experience in solar, roofing, or construction preferredPhysical Requirements:Must be able to work at great heights.Prolonged periods of kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing ladders.Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds at a time.Work Environment:PV installation is done outdoors. Installers work on rooftops but also sometimes work in attics and crawl spaces to connect panels to the electrical grid.PV installers work as part of a team.
