Job summary

Ion Solar is hiring a skilled Installer to assemble, install, and maintain residential PV systems. You will work on rooftops, configure systems per site conditions, ensure weather sealing, and assist electricians with grid connections.

The role emphasizes safety and quality in outdoor environments. Candidates should have strong PV and electrical knowledge, be comfortable at heights, and be capable of using hand and power tools and field software such as Field Pro, Salesforce, and Paycom.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational/technical training preferred.
• Experience in solar, roofing, or construction preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of PV equipment and electrical wiring.

Responsibilities

Our dedicated team is committed to making solar energy accessible and affordable for homeowners across the country.We are currently in search of a skilled Installer who will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining solar PV systems..Duties/Responsibilities:Assembles and installs solar panels on roofsConfigures PV systems based on site conditions and customers needs and expectations; connects panels to the power gridMaintain high levels of quality assurance and quality control with an emphasis on crew safetyComplete projects within established policies and proceduresEnsures that equipment is weather sealedPerforms routine maintenance on PV systemsResponsible for assisting the Electrician with connecting PV panels to the electrical systemPerforms other related duties as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:Extensive knowledge of PV equipment and installation.Extensive knowledge of electrical wiring and equipment.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to read building plans.Ability to read equipment manuals.Ability to use hand and power tools to install PV panels.Ability to use ION technology, such as smartphones, Paycom, Field Pro, SalesForce, etc.Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required.Vocational or technical school training preferred.Experience in solar, roofing, or construction preferredPhysical Requirements:Must be able to work at great heights.Prolonged periods of kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing ladders.Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds at a time.Work Environment:PV installation is done outdoors. Installers work on rooftops but also sometimes work in attics and crawl spaces to connect panels to the electrical grid.PV installers work as part of a team.
