Job summary

ION Solar, LLC is hiring an Installer to assemble, install, and maintain solar PV systems in Franklin, MA. The role is full-time and outdoor, requiring travel to rooftop sites with a team of technicians and electricians.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, experience in solar or construction, and ability to read plans and manuals. Training and benefits are provided.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and install solar panels on roofs.
  • Configure PV systems based on site conditions and connect to grid.
  • Maintain high quality and crew safety.
  • Complete projects within policies and procedures.
  • Ensure equipment is weather sealed and perform routine maintenance.
  • Assist Electrician with wiring PV panels to electrical system.

The company

ION Solar is a rapidly expanding, full-service residential solar company with a strong nationwide presence. Our dedicated team is committed to making solar energy accessible and affordable for homeowners across the country.

We are currently in search of a skilled Installer who will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining solar PV systems.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Assembles and installs solar panels on roofs
  • Configures PV systems based on site conditions and customers needs and expectations; connects panels to the power grid
  • Maintain high levels of quality assurance and quality control with an emphasis on crew safety
  • Complete projects within established policies and procedures
  • Ensures that equipment is weather sealed
  • Performs routine maintenance on PV systems
  • Responsible for assisting the Electrician with connecting PV panels to the electrical system
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Extensive knowledge of PV equipment and installation.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical wiring and equipment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read building plans.
  • Ability to read equipment manuals.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools to install PV panels.
  • Ability to use ION technology, such as smartphones, Paycom, Field Pro, SalesForce, etc.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational or technical school training preferred.
  • Experience in solar, roofing, or construction preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work at great heights.
  • Prolonged periods of kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing ladders.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds at a time.
Work Environment
  • PV installation is done outdoors. Installers work on rooftops but also sometimes work in attics and crawl spaces to connect panels to the electrical grid.
  • PV installers work as part of a team. Installation of solar panels require the help of technicians and electricians.
