Job summary

ION Solar is expanding its residential solar installation team in Columbus, OH. The Installer will assemble, install, and maintain PV systems on rooftops, collaborating with electricians to connect to the grid and ensure safety.

You should have a high school diploma or equivalent, prefer technical training, and experience in solar, roofing, or construction. Expect outdoor work, heights, and physical demands, with competitive wages and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Maintains weather sealing and safety standards on site.

Our dedicated team is committed to making solar energy accessible and affordable for homeowners across the country.We are currently in search of a skilled Installer who will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining solar PV systems..Duties/Responsibilities:Assembles and installs solar panels on roofsConfigures PV systems based on site conditions and customers needs and expectations; connects panels to the power gridMaintain high levels of quality assurance and quality control with an emphasis on crew safetyComplete projects within established policies and proceduresEnsures that equipment is weather sealedPerforms routine maintenance on PV systemsResponsible for assisting the Electrician with connecting PV panels to the electrical systemPerforms other related duties as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:Extensive knowledge of PV equipment and installation.Extensive knowledge of electrical wiring and equipment.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to read building plans.Ability to read equipment manuals.Ability to use hand and power tools to install PV panels.Ability to use ION technology, such as smartphones, Paycom, Field Pro, SalesForce, etc.Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required.Vocational or technical school training preferred.Experience in solar, roofing, or construction preferredPhysical Requirements:Must be able to work at great heights.Prolonged periods of kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing ladders.Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds at a time.Work Environment:PV installation is done outdoors. Installers work on rooftops but also sometimes work in attics and crawl spaces to connect panels to the electrical grid.PV installers work as part of a team.
