Job summary

Otovo is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician in Las Vegas to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair solar energy systems, battery storage, and generators. This role suits an experienced electrical professional who enjoys hands-on work, solving problems, and delivering excellent customer service while advancing clean energy.

Responsibilities include diagnosing equipment, performing preventive maintenance, commissioning upgrades, and maintaining thorough records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years of electrical experience.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Knowledge of NEC, AHJ, and utility interconnection requirements.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience using electrical diagnostic equipment.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel locally and work overtime as needed.
• State-required electrical license (Journeyman, Wireman, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments.
• Commission new systems and upgrades while ensuring NEC, AHJ, and utility compliance.
• Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment.
• Maintain service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation.
• Follow safety procedures including PPE usage, lockout/tagout, and fall protection.
• Respond to emergency service calls and warranty repairs as needed.
• Communicate with homeowners/customers about system status and recommendations.
• Represent Otovo professionally at customer sites.
