Job summary

Otovo is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, battery storage, and generators. The role involves hands-on electrical work, problem solving, and delivering excellent customer service while supporting the transition to clean energy.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of electrical experience
• Strong understanding of NEC, AHJ, and utility interconnection requirements
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments
• Commission new systems and upgrades while ensuring compliance with NEC, AHJ, and utility requirements
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation
• Follow all safety procedures including PPE usage, lockout/tagout processes, and fall protection requirements
• Respond to emergency service calls and warranty-related repairs as needed
• Communicate effectively with homeowners and customers regarding system status and repair recommendations
• Represent Otovo professionally at customer sites
