Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician (Level 1) to perform field maintenance at Lakeview, OR. This full-time role begins as contingent with potential to become permanent, focusing on safe work practices in the solar industry.

The position involves basic testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of solar equipment across multiple plants, with supervision and on‑call responsibilities. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; vocational/technical training a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work in mechanical/electrical environments.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Must be able to identify and perform effective Lock Out/Tag Out of energized parts/systems.
• Knowledge of solar installation/plant basics and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety; ensure all employees follow safe practices on site.
• Work safely under supervision and seek guidance as needed.
• Operate and care for company property, equipment, and tooling.
• Service solar equipment across multiple plants under supervision.
• Perform basic testing, troubleshooting and maintenance using monitoring programs.
• Replace or repair solar parts under supervision and document work.
• Respond to on-call requests for emergency repairs.
• Complete accurate reports of work performed and times.
