Job summary

ACT Power Services is seeking a Solar Maintenance Technician to perform safe, productive repairs and preventive maintenance on Commercial and Utility Scale Solar PV plants. You will tackle inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to maximize production while learning across electrical theory and NEC standards.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, DC/AC testing, and interpreting schematics. The role requires travel, on-call work, and weekend availability, with extensive safety

Qualifications

• Familiarity with electrical systems and components.
• Proficiency in using power tools for repair tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Working knowledge and experience operating under OSHA 1910, NFPA 70E, and 70B.
• OSHA 10 General Industry certificate.
• Must be able to travel, work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in everything that you do.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting and repair of solar photovoltaic facilities.
• Willingness to learn the NEC code, electrical theory, and industry best practices.
• DC and AC testing including polarity, open circuit voltage, grounding continuity, communication, insulation resistance testing, I‑V curve tracing.
• Interpret schematics to understand system layouts and connections.
• Maintain a schedule for routine maintenance, service, trouble shooting and repair of equipment at solar photovoltaic facilities.
• Maintain company property such as vehicle, tools, meters and plant stock.
• Maintaining service reports, inspection documentation, safety paperwork, and spare parts inventory.
• Provide maintenance and troubleshooting training to technicians and others as needed.
• Identify safety hazards and take appropriate action to remove or eliminate hazards.
