Job summary

ACT Power Services is seeking a Solar Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on Commercial and Utility Scale solar PV plants. You will troubleshoot, inspect, and repair modules, strings, trackers, and inverters to maximize production and ensure safety.

This entry-level role emphasizes learning electrical theory, NEC guidelines, and industry best practices while maintaining safety on outdoor job sites and working with a field team to support reliable clean energy

Qualifications

• Familiarity with electrical systems and components.
• Proficiency with power tools for repair tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite.
• Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal oversight.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Working knowledge of OSHA 1910, NFPA 70E, and 70B.
• OSHA 10 General Industry certificate.
• Must be able to travel, work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in everything that you do
• Conducting routine preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting and repair of solar photovoltaic facilities
• Willingness to learn the NEC code, electrical theory, and industry best practices
• DC and AC testing included but not limited to polarity, open circuit voltage, grounding continuity, communication, insulation resistance testing, I‑V curve tracing
• Interpret schematics to understand system layouts and connections
• Maintain a schedule for routine maintenance, service, trouble shooting and repair of equipment at solar photovoltaic facilities including but not limited to: Single Axis trackers, Central or String Inverters, Transformers, AC and DC disconnects, Substation equipment
• Maintaining company property such as vehicle, tools, meters and plant stock
• Maintaining service reports, inspection documentation, safety paperwork, and spare parts inventory
• Provide maintenance and troubleshooting training to technicians and others as needed
• Identify safety hazards and take appropriate action to remove or eliminate hazards
