Job summary

ACT Power Services in Wilson, NC is seeking a Solar Maintenance Technician. This entry-level role performs safe, productive maintenance and repairs on Commercial and Utility Scale Solar PV plants to maximize production and reliability.

You will service modules, strings, trackers and inverters, learn NEC electrical theory, and grow skills while maintaining safety and compliance; travel and on-call duties are required.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with electrical systems and components.
• Proficiency with power tools for repair tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite.
• Valid Driver's License and clean record.
• OSHA 1910, NFPA 70E and 70B knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in all tasks.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting and repair of solar PV facilities.
• Learn NEC code, electrical theory and industry best practices.
• DC and AC testing including polarity, voltage, grounding, insulation resistance, I-V curve tracing.
• Interpret schematics to understand system layouts and connections.
• Maintain schedule for routine maintenance and inventory at facilities with trackers, inverters, transformers and disconnects.
• Maintain service reports, safety paperwork and spare parts inventory.
• Provide maintenance and troubleshooting training to technicians as needed.
• Identify safety hazards and take action to remove or mitigate hazards.
