Job summary

Otovo is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems in Baltimore, MD. You will work hands-on with solar panels, batteries, generators, and related equipment, delivering excellent customer service while ensuring safety and code compliance.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing preventive maintenance, commissioning upgrades, and documenting service activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years of electrical experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.
• State electrical certification or license (Journeyman, Wireman, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning and wiring inspections.
• Commission new systems and upgrades in compliance with NEC/AHJ/utility requirements.
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation.
• Follow safety procedures including PPE, lockout/tagout, and fall protection.
• Respond to emergency service calls and warranty repairs as needed.
• Communicate with homeowners and customers regarding system status and recommendations.
• Represent Otovo professionally at customer sites.
