Shadow one of our electricians and help them with their tasks. Learn to read blueprints, diagnose electrical problems, and repair electrical systems.

Assist with installing new electrical systems and support journeymen in planning, layout, installation, testing and repair of wiring, fixtures, motors, and control systems per plans and codes. Qualifications

• 2001-4000 hours (1-2 years) of experience working as an electrician and a basic knowledge of the electrical craft.
• If applicable must have all necessary licenses for the jurisdiction in which the work is to be performed.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.

Responsibilities

• Assist a journeyman electrician and follow instructions.
• Learn to use hand and power tools to assist electrician in performing duties.
• Perform minor repairs, such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches.
• Maintain tools and equipment and keep supplies in order; repair and reassemble defective electrical equipment.
• Load, transport, unload, and furnish materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Follow safety processes and programs to achieve zero injuries.
• Report accidents and near misses to supervisor and participate in investigations.
• Participate in pre-job safety planning and identify hazards and corrective actions.
• Read and understand plans and specifications; assist journeymen in layout.
• Observe equipment operation and notify supervision of hazards.
